Senior Platform Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - 110,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience building, operating, and troubleshooting production-grade systems, with a strong focus on reliability, observability, and scalability.
• We value hands-on experience with AI/ML or LLM-based tools in a platform or operational context, such as automation, observability, developer experience, or incident response.
• We need strong programming and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash, and experience using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform to build repeatable, low-risk systems.
• We are looking for experience with AWS, including EKS, RDS, S3, and CloudFront, or equivalent platforms on GCP or Azure.
• We want someone comfortable working close to the system with solid Linux and networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing, and VPNs.
• We value practical experience designing or improving observability, including metrics, logs, and traces, using tools such as Datadog, Grafana, ELK, Sentry, and OpsGenie.
• We are looking for someone who can take ownership of complex technical problems, form clear opinions backed by data, and drive solutions through implementation and collaboration.
• We need someone who works effectively across teams, communicates technical concepts clearly, and applies systems thinking to make platforms easier to use, safer to operate, and simpler to scale.
• We also value experience with Claude code.

Responsibilities:

• We want you to define and evolve infrastructure architecture to support multi-region deployments.

• You will explore and apply AI-assisted approaches to reduce operational toil, improve reliability, and support platform decision-making where it creates clear value.
• You will extend monitoring and observability capabilities across services.
• You will make operational data easy to access, understand, and act on.
• You will build tooling for safe deployments, fast rollbacks, and reduced operational toil using software methodologies and approaches.
• You will experiment with AI-assisted detection, triage, or automation to improve signal quality and reduce manual effort.
• You will scope, lead, and deliver platform initiatives autonomously.
• You will drive cross-team projects with clear outcomes and accountability.
• You will raise the bar through documentation, runbooks, and internal knowledge sharing.
• You will help teams learn, align, and operate more effectively together.
