Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £41,500 - 71,000 per year

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure components, architectures, and industry best practices.
• Strong experience with infrastructure automation tools, preferably Ansible, within air-gapped environments.
• A practical understanding of security best practices and the ability to coordinate with specialist engineers throughout the design, development, deployment, and assurance testing lifecycle to ensure compliance with security requirements and standards.
• 5 years experience.
• Experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining a broad range of infrastructure technologies, including networking (Aruba/Cisco), firewalls (Palo Alto), virtualisation (VMware), Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Defence sector experience.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions to automate the deployment, configuration, and management of Synthetic and Training Engineering Products.
• Ensure infrastructure is scalable, secure, resilient, and cost-effective by implementing best practices, monitoring performance, and pursuing continuous improvement in line with the infrastructure product route map and release plan.
• Collaborate with the embedded Synthetic and Training Engineering Products Security team to maintain compliance with corporate policies, security requirements, and the product-specific security control framework.
• Support company business both within the UK and internationally, deploying and maintaining Synthetic Training and Engineering Products.
• Work as part of an existing Infrastructure team on Synthetic Training Device infrastructure through code-based tools and practices.
• Use technologies such as Ansible to develop and maintain reusable, scalable, and secure infrastructure deployments.

We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for our Warton near Preston site on a 12-month contract, inside IR35, at £47.12 per hour. You will join our Synthetic Training and Engineering Products team and help shape the future of defence, security, and aerospace by tackling complex challenges and developing innovative solutions.
