Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: £62,000 - 80,000 per year

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++.
• Proven track record of delivering software components on time with accurate progress reporting.
• Ability to provide technical direction, mentor junior team members, and communicate complex concepts clearly to stakeholders.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Flexible approach with willingness to adapt to changing priorities and support departmental and organisational goals.
• Proactive in staying current with industry trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve technical and professional skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the creation of embedded software, including defining requirements, designing architecture, and implementing solutions in C/C++.
• Work closely with hardware engineers and project teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with product goals.
• Validate software through rigorous testing and debugging to meet system-level requirements and performance standards.
• Drive design and code reviews, promote best practices, and ensure adherence to industry standards.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for designs, requirements, and test procedures.
• Keep internal stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and key updates.
• Provide supportive, non-directive guidance and peer support to team members, fostering growth and staying current with emerging technologies.
• Lead planning and estimation efforts, contributing to decision-making and ensuring timely delivery of software components.
• Champion continuous improvement of development processes to enhance software quality and team efficiency.
• Carry out any other duties as required.
