Job Description

Salary: £85,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
  • We are looking for someone with at least 12 years of information security experience, including 5 years in an architecture role.
  • We need proven experience designing enterprise-scale security architectures.
  • We require a strong background in defence, aerospace, or government security programmes.
  • We expect demonstrated expertise in security operations, incident response, and threat management.
  • We need a track record of leading security transformation and programme implementations.
  • We require deep expertise in security architecture frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.
  • We need expert-level knowledge of network security, endpoint security, and application security.
  • We require a strong understanding of threat models, attack vectors, and defence-in-depth strategies.
  • We need proficiency in cloud security, such as AWS, Azure security, or equivalent.
  • We require knowledge of security tools such as SIEM, DLP, EDR, WAF, and firewalls.
  • We need an understanding of cryptography, encryption, and security protocols.
  • We require familiarity with MOD security requirements, Classification Guides, and defence standards.
  • We need knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and NIST CSF.
  • We value exceptional strategic thinking with strong technical depth.
  • We expect outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • We need strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • We require proven ability to lead technical teams and influence executive stakeholders.
  • We prefer experience with defence or aerospace security programmes.
  • We prefer CISSP, CISM, CCSK, or equivalent security certifications.
  • We prefer AWS Security or Azure Security certifications.
  • We prefer experience with security governance and compliance frameworks.
  • We prefer knowledge of ITAR compliance and export controls.
  • We prefer an Armed Forces or military security background.
Responsibilities:
  • We design and implement comprehensive security architectures for defence and aerospace IT environments.
  • We develop enterprise security strategies aligned with Defence Security Policy.
  • We lead security programme implementations.
  • We architect integrated defence-in-depth solutions across network, application, data, and endpoint layers.
  • We lead security architecture reviews and technical security assessments.
  • We design zero-trust security models and continuous verification frameworks.
  • We assess the cyber threat landscape and design threat-informed security architectures.
  • We lead security risk assessments and vulnerability management programmes.
  • We design incident response, threat intelligence, and cyber defence capabilities.
  • We architect security monitoring, detection, and response solutions.
  • We design business continuity and cyber resilience frameworks.
  • We ensure security architectures comply with MOD security requirements and ITAR regulations.
  • We design security solutions that support Information Security Management System (ISMS) compliance.
  • We architect compliance and audit capabilities for regulatory reporting.
  • We lead security standards implementation and controls frameworks.
  • We architect endpoint protection, data loss prevention (DLP), and advanced threat protection solutions.
  • We design cloud security architectures for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • We architect application security, API security, and secure SDLC integration.
  • We design security operations centre (SOC) capabilities and security information and event management (SIEM).
  • We lead security technology evaluation and implementation programmes.
  • We lead security technical teams and provide architectural mentoring.
  • We establish security design standards, architecture patterns, and operational governance.
  • We drive technical decision-making through security design reviews.
  • We document security architecture decisions and design specifications.
  • We serve as the technical authority for security architecture discussions with customer leadership.
  • We present security recommendations to defence programme teams and executive stakeholders.
  • We lead security architecture workshops and customer engagement activities.
  • We communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
