PostgreSQL DBA (Remote)

Salary: £130,000 - 136,500 per year

Requirements:

• Active SC Clearance (mandatory)
• Extensive commercial experience as a PostgreSQL DBA
• Proven AWS cloud experience, specifically with Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible) and Amazon RDS
• Strong background in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting query bottlenecks
• Experience in public sector or secure environments is highly advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and manage PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon RDS instances
• Tune database performance, troubleshoot slow queries, and conduct proactive monitoring
• Execute schema updates, migrations, and engine upgrades safely in cloud environments
• Support disaster recovery, backup protocols, and high-availability setups
• Collaborate with software, engineering, DevOps, and infrastructure teams on database design best practices
• Help ensure optimal performance, high availability, and adherence to government security standards
