Platform Architect (Kubernetes/Openshift)

Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in enterprise Kubernetes platform architecture, with OpenShift desirable
• Experience designing and evolving production platforms
• Experience with platform engineering and microservices
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and automation
• Experience with hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure
• Experience with high availability, resilience and disaster recovery
• Experience working within complex enterprise or regulated environments
• Applicants must be Sole UK Nationals and eligible to obtain SC Security Clearance

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the architecture and evolution of a large-scale enterprise Kubernetes platform supporting business-critical services
• Define platform strategy and influence technical direction
• Ensure the platform remains secure, resilient, and scalable as it evolves
• Set architectural standards
• Work closely with engineering teams to shape long-term technical direction

We are recruiting for a senior Platform Architect in a hybrid role based in the Reading area, with 1-2 days per week on site. This is a senior opportunity with a salary of up to £115,000 plus bonus. We are looking for someone who has moved beyond implementation and enjoys solving platform-wide challenges in an enterprise environment. This role is not hands-on engineering; instead, we offer the chance to own platform architecture, guide strategy, and support the continued evolution of a critical Kubernetes platform.
