Salary: £46,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Proven experience designing, implementing and testing OT/ICS networks and cybersecurity solutions in industrial environments.
  • Detailed experience across the full project lifecycle, from system specification through design, development and testing.
  • Experience designing, specifying, implementing, testing and commissioning security solutions, controls and countermeasures for OT/IACS environments.
  • Experience hardening PLC, HMI and SCADA systems to recognised industry standards, guidelines and best practices.
  • Experience securing and hardening network infrastructure, including segmentation and boundary protection using managed switches and firewalls, and passive Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS).
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing networks using Hirschmann industrial managed switches and firewall products.
  • Experience with network synchronisation, including dedicated time appliances and NTP.
  • Experience implementing security controls and hardening automation vendor systems, such as Rockwell Automation, Bently Nevada, Det-tronics and Opto 22.
  • Understanding of the OSI and TCP/IP models, with strong applied knowledge of industrial network protocols, including EtherNet/IP; CIP Security is beneficial.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) and delivering well-described, traceable outputs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Degree or HND/HNC in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or another relevant engineering discipline.
  • Professionally registered engineer or working towards professional registration.
  • Experience in a System Integrator, Operator of Essential Services (OES) or Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) organisation is desirable.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and frameworks relevant to OT is desirable.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff, including apprentices, is desirable.
  • Relevant OT cybersecurity certification is beneficial, such as ISA/IEC 62443 Cyber Security Expert, GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GISCP), CCNA or CCNP.
Responsibilities:
  • Take responsibility for the technical delivery of the projects OT network management system and cybersecurity controls.
  • Design, implement and test secure systems and networks for an industrial control system.
  • Produce, maintain and update technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, and operating and maintenance documentation.
  • Deploy and test networks and cybersecurity controls for PLC and SCADA environments.
  • Conduct system integration and factory acceptance testing (FAT).
  • Support OT cybersecurity project lifecycle activities, including vulnerability identification, patching, and software and password management.
  • Collaborate with the Project Engineering Management team, Lead Automation Engineers, OT Cyber Security Manager and wider project engineering team to plan and deliver project cybersecurity work to the required schedule and quality standards.
  • Report progress and blockers clearly and support the Project Manager with commercial matters, including progress, risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Support the project and commercial management team with technical aspects of subcontracts.
  • Provide health and safety leadership by example.
