Lead Software Engineer

Salary: £43,000 - 72,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading or managing software engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on software development experience, including essential C++ development experience.
• Strong experience using Jira.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic engineering environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and line manage a small team of Software Engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance management.
• Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, integration, and delivery.
• Remain hands-on with software engineering, supporting architecture, code reviews, and system integration activities.
• Contribute to system-level design decisions across software, hardware, and networking.
• Manage project schedules, resources, and team budgets to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop complex, high-performance systems.
