Lead Engineer - Full Stack
Job Description
Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year
Requirements:- Hands-on experience with .NET, Python, React/JavaScript, and Terraform
- Knowledge of Go/Rust and willingness to adopt newer development frameworks
- Comfortable with cloud-native environments, including Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps, and working alongside platform teams
- Proven experience shipping production code, ideally in cloud environments
- Solid CI/CD knowledge, including pipelines, testing, and deployment, with tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Octopus
- Strong focus on code quality, testing, and engineering standards
- Familiarity with Kubernetes patterns, ArgoCD with Crossplane, secrets management, and multi-cloud environments such as GCP and Azure
- Good understanding of observability tools such as New Relic and production monitoring best practices
- Ability to set direction and work cross-functionally
- Experience managing engineers and supporting team growth
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to translate high-level requirements into sound technical designs and break down complexity into implementable components
- Experience encouraging knowledge sharing through pairing, documentation, and similar approaches
- Experience with Elasticsearch is preferred, including designing and operating search solutions in production
- Familiarity with Elastic Cloud is a plus
- Lead our Application Platform Team as a Lead Engineer, combining technical expertise with people leadership
- Guide teams delivering high-quality, production-ready solutions
- Work closely with platform, product, and data teams to deliver scalable systems
- Develop and support engineers at different levels
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing environment
- Ensure best practices around code quality, reliability, and delivery are consistently upheld
- Translate high-level requirements into sound technical designs
- Decompose complexity into logical, implementable components the team can build with confidence
- Encourage knowledge sharing through practical approaches such as pairing and documentation
