Lead Developer - Power Platform
Job Description
Salary: £57,515 - 57,515 per year
Requirements:- We want someone with proven experience in software development and delivery, particularly within Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform.
- We need detailed knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform.
- We are looking for experience working in Agile delivery environments and delivering solutions focused on user needs.
- We value the ability to work collaboratively with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- We need someone who can operate at subject matter expert level and provide guidance on resolving live issues.
- We are looking for experience supporting team organisation, motivation, assessment, recruitment, development, and performance management.
- We will rely on you to design, build, and test software that supports our frontline staff and improves road safety.
- You will help set up and shape our new in-house Power Platform capability.
- You will support the development and maintenance of current and future applications.
- You will work collaboratively with external suppliers and DVSA stakeholders to support the delivery of defined solutions.
- You will lead and inspire team members, providing guidance and support so they can deliver against objectives.
- You will lead the development of value-driven services that meet customer needs and guide app teams in building solutions.
- You will act as a subject matter expert and help resolve live issues.
- You will work to modern development standards, practices, and techniques with a strong focus on user experience.
- You will assist the principal developer with team organisation, motivation, assessment, recruitment, development, and performance management.

We are DVSA and our applications support essential activities for our staff, including theory test bookings, roadside enforcement encounters, and annual vehicle tests. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible working options, including full-time, part-time, job share, and flexible working arrangements. The role is advertised as based in Uxbridge during the Yeading site works, with the contractual base in Yeading once the site reopens in 2028. We offer a salary of £57,515 per annum plus a Government Digital and Data Profession allowance of up to £24,915, an employer pension contribution of 28.97%, 25 days annual leave rising to 30 days, 8 bank holidays, a privilege day for the Kings birthday, and a strong emphasis on work-life balance. You will join our expanding internal Application Development team at its inception, helping shape its structure, training, and strategic direction while delivering nationally recognised digital projects.
