Infrastructure Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £45,000 - 60,000 per year
Requirements:- Strong hands-on experience with Windows infrastructure engineering
- Advanced PowerShell scripting experience, including automation and deployment tasks
- Experience using YAML, particularly for deployment or pipeline configuration
- Proven background in software deployment, delivery, or packaging
- Solid experience with virtualisation, such as VMware and/or Hyper-V
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, and core networking concepts
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and application issues
- Exposure to endpoint management and endpoint security platforms
- Some knowledge of SQL scripting, including queries, troubleshooting, and configuration support
- Experience operating within ITIL or service-oriented environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Willingness to participate in remote on-call support, including two Sundays per month
- Bachelors degree or equivalent commercial experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in an infrastructure, systems, or technical engineering role
- Relevant Microsoft qualifications, or working toward them
- Deploy, configure, and automate software solutions across on-premise, hosted, and cloud environments
- Build and maintain deployment automation using PowerShell, YAML, and Azure DevOps pipelines
- Deliver customer IT implementation work, including infrastructure setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve issues across Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisation, networking, storage, and security
- Provide escalated third-line technical support for customer incidents and internal teams
- Support endpoint platforms and endpoint security tooling in customer and internal environments
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, diagrams, DR plans, and runbooks
- Work within ITIL-aligned processes, collaborating with project managers, pre-sales, and service teams
- Participate in remote on-call and out-of-hours support on a rota basis, with occasional travel where required
- Contribute to continuous improvement, internal tooling, documentation standards, and knowledge sharing
