Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £70,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter and VCF.
• We require Windows Server and Linux administration experience.
• We require experience in secure infrastructure build, deployment and support.
• You must be able to commute to Farnborough 5 days per week.
• You must hold sole UK nationality.
• You must have Security Clearance or be eligible to undergo Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:

• We design, build and deliver secure digital solutions in highly secure environments.
• We maintain, improve and secure multi-classification, virtualised, collaboration and development environments.
• We work with IT infrastructure colleagues to improve Secure by Design capabilities across our projects.
• We provide infrastructure support to public cloud SaaS offerings such as Office 365 and to project-based systems across public, private and hybrid clouds.
• We perform maintenance tasks on infrastructure through change control.
• We support monitoring and management of project-based ticketing and alerting systems for new changes and security alerts.
• We triage monitoring alerts and take appropriate action.
• We maintain monitoring components in line with infrastructure developments.
• We ensure platforms are patched in line with provider recommendations and security policy.
• We assess the impact of incidents, initiate return to service and complete follow-up actions.
• We identify trends and problems and plan changes to improve stability and performance.
• We maintain knowledge of secure public, private and hybrid cloud and network technologies.
• We develop our knowledge through study and research toward vocational certifications.
• We advise customers and project teams on infrastructure and support matters.
• We create knowledge articles to share expertise with our team and the wider organisation.
• We support the team in winning business.

We are offering a permanent Senior Infrastructure Engineer role based in Farnborough, working on technology that supports Defence and National Security.
