Salary: £35,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of experience with backend development in PHP or Python, databases, and frontend development in JavaScript
  • Proven track record of delivering features end-to-end, from concept and prototyping through production
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to innovation and new technologies
  • Ability to work autonomously in a small, fast-moving team and manage priorities independently
  • Product-oriented mindset, translating user needs and strategic goals into practical, impactful solutions
  • Ability to balance rapid delivery with sustainable engineering quality
  • Understanding of security vulnerabilities and how to avoid them
  • Experience writing automated tests, reviewing code, and producing technical documentation
  • Excellent English communication skills, including clearly explaining ideas, rationale, and trade-offs
  • Comfort working in a fully remote, global, agile environment
  • Experience with analytics, reporting, data visualization, or AI/ML integrations is a strong signal
  • Background contributing to or building on open-source projects is a strong signal
  • Familiarity with UX principles and/or data-driven product design is a strong signal
  • Prior experience in innovation, R&D, or product prototyping environments is a strong signal
  • German proficiency is a strong signal

Responsibilities:
  • Design, prototype, and deliver backend and frontend features that extend Matomos capabilities
  • Work with additional technologies, including Python and Node.js, as needed
  • Explore and validate product ideas, including AI-powered insights and analytics features
  • Identify and develop innovation opportunities across analytics, visualization, integrations, and user experience
  • Own ideas end-to-end, from concept through deployment and integration into Matomos core platform
  • Balance speed and quality while avoiding unnecessary over-engineering
  • Work effectively in a small, autonomous team with minimal oversight
  • Identify and resolve blockers proactively, escalating when support is needed
  • Consider usability, scalability, security, and long-term product value
  • Write automated tests, review code, and produce clear technical documentation
  • Maintain awareness of security vulnerabilities and implement secure practices
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and product trends
  • Collaborate with our co-founders and senior engineers using Slack, Jira, and Confluence
  • Share concepts, prototypes, and learnings to spread innovation practices across the company
  • Communicate ideas, rationale, and technical trade-offs clearly in a fully remote, global environment

We are InnoCraft, trading as Matomo. Matomo is an open-source analytics platform trusted by enterprises, public institutions, and governments that require full data ownership. We are expanding our European engineering team and seeking a Full Stack Engineer to shape and validate the future of our product through innovation-focused development. Youll join a high-calibre, autonomous team and work closely with our CTO and senior engineers to turn high-impact concepts into production-ready solutions. We are profitable, self-funded, have grown at a double-digit rate for more than five years, and have a steadily expanding global team. The role is 100% remote within Ireland, with flexible hours and support for work-life balance. Compensation is €70,000–€80,000 per year. Benefits include 30 days of paid holiday plus public holidays, a remote office budget and home equipment, health insurance, mental health support, a volunteering day, and an annual learning budget.
