Engineering Tech Lead

Salary: £70,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience as a Tech Lead, Senior Engineer or Engineering Lead
• Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience
• Experience delivering software within Agile environments
• Ability to influence technical decisions and mentor engineers
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Passion for building quality software and improving engineering practices
• Desirable: Financial Services or FinTech experience
• Desirable: React and TypeScript experience
• Desirable: CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Desirable: Monitoring and observability tools including Grafana or Prometheus
• Desirable: Interest in AI-enabled software development

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership across software engineering teams
• Guide software design, architecture and engineering best practice
• Support delivery planning, prioritisation and risk management
• Mentor engineers through feedback, coaching and development
• Collaborate with Product and stakeholders to deliver business objectives
• Drive improvements across engineering processes, quality and delivery
• Support recruitment and help build high-performing teams
• Encourage modern development practices, automation and AI tooling
