Engineering Lead

Salary: £45,000 - 100,000 per year

Requirements:

• We have strong experience with iRESS Xplan, including configuration, customisation and integration.
• We have proven leadership experience within software engineering or platform engineering environments.
• We have a strong understanding of API design and enterprise integration patterns.
• We have experience delivering solutions within regulated financial services environments.
• We have knowledge of cloud and middleware technologies, including serverless architectures.
• We have experience working with modern SDLC practices and Agile delivery methods.
• We have strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• We understand data platforms and operational data models.
• We have wealth management, private banking or investment platform experience.
• We have experience integrating Xplan with Salesforce Financial Services Cloud.
• We have knowledge of financial planning and adviser back-office processes.
• We have experience managing vendor relationships and influencing product roadmaps.
• We have a track record of building internal capability and reducing reliance on external implementation partners.
• We have exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• We have experience developing AI-enabled or agentic solutions within financial services.

Responsibilities:

• We own the design, development, integration and operation of our financial planning platform, ensuring it remains scalable, secure and fit for future growth.
• We provide technical leadership across engineering teams, establish best practice standards, mentor colleagues, and guide architectural decisions.
• We maintain a hands-on involvement in platform delivery and optimisation.
• We work across the financial planning, CRM, data and wealth technology landscape to shape our future technology direction.
• We lead key platform integrations, including Salesforce Financial Services Cloud, enterprise data platforms, middleware technologies, APIs and wealth management systems.
