Job Description
Salary: £100,000 - 100,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience with low-level programming languages such as C, C++, Rust, or C
- Knowledge of embedded systems or real-time software development
- Understanding of hardware/software interaction
- Experience with Linux and development toolchains
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience with real-time operating systems, safety-critical development, high-performance computing, or defence environments would be advantageous
- Develop low-level software using C, C++, Rust, or similar languages
- Build solutions for embedded, real-time, and resource-constrained environments
- Work with hardware interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN bus
- Develop and optimise high-performance systems
- Support secure and high-assurance engineering practices
- Work with Linux environments, toolchains, and build systems
- Improve system reliability, performance, and efficiency

We are supporting a growing defence technology consultancy that builds advanced engineering solutions for complex and demanding environments. We are looking for Embedded Software Engineers across all levels, from graduates through to technical specialists, to help us develop high-performance and reliable systems. This is a 5 days onsite role in Newcastle Upon Tyne with a salary of £40,000 to £100,000.
