Job Description

Salary: £69,000 - 109,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require an honours degree in geoscience, ideally 2:1 or above.
  • We require a strong understanding of geoscience domains such as stratigraphy, sedimentology, or petroleum geology.
  • We require experience working with subsurface datasets such as wireline, seismic, biostratigraphy, geochemistry, rock properties, or lithology.
  • We require strong Python programming skills.
  • We require experience with relational databases.
  • We require familiarity with AI/ML and its potential to support geoscience interpretation.
  • We require experience with ETL pipelines and data cleaning.
  • We require excellent communication and teamwork skills in a collaborative R&D environment.
  • We prefer awareness of data analysis within common dashboard platforms.
  • We prefer experience in the energy sector.
Responsibilities:
  • We work as an experienced geoscientist with a data science background within our customer data integration team.
  • We collaborate with colleagues from multiple disciplines to refine and enhance workflows, especially supporting customer workflows and customer data types.
  • We stay current with AI/ML technology and geoscience advancements to drive innovation.
  • We contribute to customer presentations, particularly regarding customer data and associated workflows.
  • We help shape the future of subsurface interpretation and modelling from our Abingdon office.
  • We work in a hybrid arrangement and attend our Abingdon office three days a week.
