Requirements:

• Strong data governance and data controls experience.
• At least 3-4 similar discovery or review engagements.
• Hands-on experience with data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and control design.
• Financial services experience.
• Ability to work across business, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
• Mortgage, lending, or credit experience is desirable.
• Experience with legacy or Microsoft-based environments is desirable.
• Experience shaping remediation roadmaps is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Review data governance and control frameworks.
• Assess data quality, lineage, privacy, and records management.
• Review data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation controls.
• Investigate schemas, databases, and data flows.
• Assess data movement into downstream reporting and credit-modelling systems.
• Identify key risks, control gaps, and remediation priorities.
• Produce a clear findings and recommendations pack.
• Support a mortgage provider with an 8-week discovery engagement.
• Assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems.

We are supporting a mortgage provider on an 8-week discovery engagement for an experienced Data Governance & Controls Consultant. We will assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems, identify gaps and risks, and produce a prioritised remediation plan. There may be a follow-on implementation phase subject to client approval.
