Requirements:- Strong data governance and data controls experience.
- At least 3-4 similar discovery or review engagements.
- Hands-on experience with data quality, lineage, reconciliation, and control design.
- Financial services experience.
- Ability to work across business, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and report-writing skills.
- Mortgage, lending, or credit experience is desirable.
- Experience with legacy or Microsoft-based environments is desirable.
- Experience shaping remediation roadmaps is desirable.
- Review data governance and control frameworks.
- Assess data quality, lineage, privacy, and records management.
- Review data completeness, accuracy, and reconciliation controls.
- Investigate schemas, databases, and data flows.
- Assess data movement into downstream reporting and credit-modelling systems.
- Identify key risks, control gaps, and remediation priorities.
- Produce a clear findings and recommendations pack.
- Support a mortgage provider with an 8-week discovery engagement.
- Assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems.

We are supporting a mortgage provider on an 8-week discovery engagement for an experienced Data Governance & Controls Consultant. We will assess the current data governance and controls environment across core mortgage, data, insight, and credit-modelling systems, identify gaps and risks, and produce a prioritised remediation plan. There may be a follow-on implementation phase subject to client approval.
