Salary: £33,000 - 73,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We are looking for at least 4 years of commercial engineering experience with a strong grounding in data engineering.
  • We would ideally like experience with Python, SQL, and AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • We are looking for experience building production data pipelines.
  • We would ideally like experience with data modelling and data platforms.
  • We would ideally like experience with Git.
  • We would ideally like experience with Airflow or similar orchestration technologies.
  • We would ideally like experience testing, debugging, and improving data reliability.
  • We are particularly interested in engineers who have worked in consultancy, professional services, or other client-facing technical environments.
  • We are looking for someone who is technically strong and comfortable communicating with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • We design and build scalable data pipelines.
  • We develop data platforms and integrations.
  • We work with Python, SQL, and modern cloud technologies.
  • We improve data quality, reliability, and accessibility.
  • We test, troubleshoot, and improve existing platforms.
  • We work with orchestration and version-control tooling.
  • We understand client requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • We work within different technology stacks depending on the project.
  • We collaborate closely with software, data, and wider engineering teams.
  • We work across the data engineering lifecycle, designing and building reliable data solutions while working directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • We take ownership of delivering the right solution and communicating with the people using the technology.

We are a rapidly growing technology consulting business in Newcastle upon Tyne, working with large, sophisticated organisations on challenging technology programmes. Our engineers are embedded alongside client teams to solve problems spanning data, software, and modern cloud engineering. This is a broad, client-facing engineering role with considerable ownership, the opportunity to broaden your technical skill set, and a package that includes a £65,000–£130,000 base salary depending on level, a 10% bonus, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension contributions matched up to 6%, private medical insurance through Bupa, and progression opportunities within a business going through considerable growth. The role is fully onsite in our beautiful Newcastle offices.
