Data Analyst
Job Description
Salary: £55,000 - 95,000 per year
Requirements:- Demonstrable data processing/handling and data analysis skills
- Professional experience in a Data Analyst role
- SQL scripting, R, Python, Power BI, and advanced MS Excel
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure and Databricks
- Git and version control practices
- High level of numerical and analytical skills
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex data issues effectively
- Understanding of insurance/reinsurance business
- Demonstrable experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL, etc.)
- Knowledge of data science, including machine learning, statistical analysis, and AI tools
- Work within our UK Data Management Team, specifically responsible for LH1 Valuation Data
- Work with our Lead Analysts to ensure data updates and delivery of LH1 Valuation Data
- Translate and validate client data
- Produce CLR-ready valuation portfolio data
- Produce data analysis and reports for internal clients in the Valuation team regarding valuation portfolio data
- Develop, execute, and manage data transformation scripts to produce valuation portfolio data
- Perform data cleansing, profiling, mapping, and mining of valuation portfolio data
- Support and deliver ad-hoc reporting needs for internal clients regarding valuation portfolio data
- Support business requirement gathering activities related to data and reporting needs, including wider process improvements and projects
- Ensure client data used for valuation portfolio delivery is stored in a consistent format and in line with treaty arrangements
- Support and improve processes and tools used by the team in relation to valuation portfolio delivery
- Determine, monitor, and report the availability, quality, and consistency of client data used in valuation portfolio deliveries
- Liaise with internal clients to understand data content, maximise business benefits, identify weaknesses, and work toward correction
- Gather, understand, and document detailed business requirements for data using appropriate tools and techniques, and ensure they are agreed at all levels throughout the business
- Manage own work priorities in a highly organised way
- Manage colleagues expectations
- Ensure data used in various work streams is of good quality and up to date
- Work independently or together with colleagues as appropriate
