Salary: £40,000 - 45,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Advanced Power BI expertise, including semantic modelling and enterprise reporting.
  • Excellent SQL and Python skills.
  • Background as a Data Analyst or Insight Analyst with extensive experience in data analysis and business intelligence.
  • Proven experience supporting or leading data migration projects, including ETL processes, data transformation, validation and migration to new business systems.
  • Strong experience designing analytical models, KPI frameworks and reporting solutions.
  • Essential experience in data insight modelling, predictive analytics and forecasting techniques that support business decision-making.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets to generate actionable business insights.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality and master data management principles.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical analytics solutions.
  • Ability to coordinate analytics activity, keep teams aligned to priorities, and ensure delivery remains on track.
Responsibilities:
  • Shape the analytical layer of the Microsoft Fabric platform, including data models, KPIs and semantic models.
  • Translate business questions into practical reporting and insight solutions.
  • Lead the transition from a predominantly Excel-based reporting environment to a modern Microsoft Fabric and Power BI analytics platform, replacing static reports with automated, interactive dashboards and meaningful insights.
  • Deliver operational insights that drive action across branch performance, workforce planning and quality intelligence.
  • Define and improve data quality, data governance and master data management approaches.
  • Partner with technical teams to ensure data is structured and accessible for effective reporting and analysis.
  • Drive the analytics workstream, ensuring priorities are clear, work is coordinated, and the team remains focused on delivering key milestones and business outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and direction across analytics initiatives, removing blockers and keeping projects on track.
  • Develop predictive analytics and machine learning models to support recruitment performance, employee retention, referral acceptance, branch growth and performance.

We are a growing Digital & Data function investing heavily in our analytics capability, with a contract opportunity for an experienced Data Insight Analyst / Insights Engineer to help shape the future of data and decision-making. This is a highly visible role where you can influence how analytics is embedded across the organisation, with the freedom to help shape the roadmap, introduce best practice and establish a more mature analytics capability. The role is based in Cheshire on a 1-2 days per month basis, with a rate of circa £450 outside IR35, and offers the chance to work closely with business leaders, data engineers and reporting developers on a Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reporting platform.
