Bordereaux Contractor

Salary: £64,000 - 104,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for someone with extensive bordereaux and data mapping experience.
• We need proven experience extracting large datasets from SQL databases.
• We are looking for strong SQL query writing and modification skills.
• We need experience reconciling bordereaux data against source systems and reports.
• We are looking for someone who can identify and resolve data quality issues.
• Experience supporting insurance reporting, underwriting, claims, premium, exposure, or finance data would be beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• We own the production, validation, and delivery of premium, claims, and exposure bordereaux.
• We review bordereaux received from coverholders, TPAs, and internal underwriting systems.
• We ensure bordereaux comply with binder and capacity provider reporting requirements.
• We identify and resolve data quality issues before reports are issued.
• We extract large datasets directly from SQL databases.
• We write or modify SQL queries to obtain underwriting, premium, claims, and exposure data.
• We build repeatable extraction processes where possible.
• We support ad hoc reporting requests from underwriting, actuarial, and finance teams.
• We reconcile bordereaux against policy administration systems, claims systems, finance/ledger data, and capacity provider reports.
• We investigate discrepancies and trace issues back to source systems.
• We produce reconciliation packs with clear audit trails.
• We identify missing or inconsistent data and standardise fields and formats.
• We improve data integrity ahead of migration or reporting exercises.
• We recommend process improvements to reduce future errors.
• We prepare historical data for a new capacity provider.
• We understand reporting requirements under the outgoing arrangement.
• We map existing data to the incoming carriers requirements.
• We produce historical loss and premium triangles or datasets for due diligence.
• We answer queries from the new carrier regarding historical performance.

We are a leading MGA based in the City of London, offering a hybrid or remote working arrangement for this 3-6 month contract role. This is a project-based opportunity where we need a Bordereaux Contractor to support bordereaux-related work, data mapping, SQL extraction, reconciliation, data quality, and capacity transition activity. We are looking for someone who can quickly get stuck into the project and help us maintain accurate, high-quality reporting and historical data preparation.
