AWS Architect

Salary: £49,000 - 66,000 per year

Requirements:

• Significant experience as a cloud / AI / ML solution architect designing production AI/ML platforms and workloads on AWS, or in a multi-cloud environment with strong AWS depth
• Deep understanding of AI/ML solution patterns, including data pipelines, training, inference, monitoring, and MLOps, and how they map onto AWS services such as SageMaker, Batch, Step Functions, EKS/ECS, and data lake components
• Proven ability to take research and prototype environments to enterprise-ready architectures, balancing speed, robustness, and long-term maintainability
• Strong background in cloud security, networking, and cost optimisation for AI/ML workloads
• Excellent stakeholder skills, with the ability to translate business objectives and programme pressures into clear architectural decisions and technical direction for engineering teams
• Experience as an AWS Architect
• Knowledge of the AWS Well Architected Framework
• Linux experience with RHEL or CentOS and Bash
• Understanding of DevOps and DevSecOps methodologies
• AWS certifications at Associate and Professional level preferred
• Security experience preferred
• Hands-on technical experience preferred
• Experience with at least one software development language such as Python, NodeJS, Java, or .Net preferred
• Experience with CDK, TypeScript, or Terraform preferred
• Interest in mentoring and developing others preferred

Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing and supporting large-scale cloud implementations on Amazon AWS
• Architect and implement cloud solutions for different applications
• Automate cloud operations and cloud deployments
• Enhance cloud capability by creating and implementing cloud application patterns
• Develop and implement ways to move apps and workloads to the cloud
• Work closely with business leads and product owners to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patterns
• Monitor compliance of cloud resources to ensure they fit industry guardrails and best practices
• Research and propose solutions for AWS data transformation, data connections, operational frameworks, and application integration
• Work closely with lead architects and engineers to create and maintain architectural templates and build/operational artefacts
• Work with DevOps and engineering teams to develop solutions
• Support Version 1 proposals with technical expertise
• Provide thought leadership
