Application Developer

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• Solid background in C#/.NET and WinForms development
• Strong commercial experience with PL/SQL
• Azure DevOps and Git source control experience
• Agile delivery experience within collaborative development teams
• Ability to work across the full software development lifecycle
• Desirable experience with Entity Framework, Angular, or TypeScript
• Desirable experience with CI/CD practices and DevOps tooling
• Desirable experience with service-oriented or microservice architectures
• Desirable experience in financial services or investment management environments

Responsibilities:

• Developing and enhancing enterprise applications built on C#/.NET WinForms
• Designing and maintaining Oracle PL/SQL database objects including procedures, packages, functions, and scheduled jobs
• Supporting the ongoing evolution of business-critical systems and processes
• Investigating and resolving complex technical issues within existing applications
• Working closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
• Participating in technical design, peer reviews, testing, and release activities
• Contributing to technical debt reduction and application modernisation initiatives

We are recruiting for an experienced C#/.Net & WinForms Developer to join a well-established investment technology team delivering enhancements and continuous improvements across a portfolio of business-critical applications. This is a hybrid role based in Edinburgh, with 2–3 days per week in the office, offering a day rate of 450–475 inside IR35. You will join a collaborative development team maintaining, enhancing, and modernising a suite of front-office applications used by investment professionals, with a focus on incremental improvements, reducing technical debt, and supporting ongoing business change initiatives.
