AI Engineer

Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong hands-on experience in Python and/or Java.
• We need practical experience working with LLMs, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, embeddings, vector databases, and RAG.
• We require experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments; Azure is preferred, with AWS or GCP also considered.
• We are looking for strong knowledge of APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• We need familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• We require experience working with SQL and NoSQL data stores, as well as large datasets.
• Bonus points if we have experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• A degree in a relevant field would be beneficial, though the role is primarily focused on practical engineering experience.

Responsibilities:

• We will design and implement LLM-based applications such as RAG pipelines, agents, and copilots.
• We will build scalable backend services using Python and Java.
• We will integrate AI capabilities into our existing cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• We will own the full lifecycle from experimentation and prototyping through to production deployment.
• We will optimise model performance, cost, and latency in real-world environments.
• We will collaborate across engineering, product, and data teams to identify and deliver high-impact AI use cases.
• We will help define our AI architecture, tooling, and best practices as our first dedicated AI hire.
