Software Engineer

Salary: £47,500 - 75,500 per year

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of Python software development experience in an enterprise environment
• Experience with cloud and serverless services, such as AWS AppSync, Lambda, and Amazon DynamoDB
• Experience building software solutions in the financial services domain
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database platforms
• Understanding of built-in Python libraries and commonly used third-party packages
• Understanding of data structures and common data transformation methodologies
• Experience in a modern software engineering environment using Agile (Scrum), DevSecOps, CI/CD workflows, and tools including Git and GitHub
• Ability to work credibly with business and technical users at all levels of the organisation
• An understanding of the investment management industry is beneficial
• Passion for technology and interest in current trends, tools, and engineering approaches
• Problem-solving skills and a business-facing approach
• Ability to own work from start to finish and understand business requirements before producing deliverables
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise several deliverables at once
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including sharing ideas and encouraging others

• Write clean Python code to build reusable components and packages
• Use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build cloud-first solutions
• Refine our existing platform and products in response to business needs
• Work with business users to co-create maintainable Python code
• Coach and develop junior team members, helping ensure best practices and methodologies are followed
