Software Test Automation Engineer

Salary: £37,000 - 66,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven proficiency in automated testing and test framework development, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Extensive experience with Python and C#, including a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps and TeamCity, including pipeline integration and test execution management.
• Demonstrated ability to develop software for cross-platform environments, with expertise in Windows and Linux; knowledge of Linux systems is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with modern development and testing tools for building, running, and validating software components.
• Experience documenting software architecture using industry-standard design patterns and best practices.
• Enthusiasm for learning and integrating emerging technologies and methodologies into testing strategies.
• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies, ideally with practical experience in Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Proficiency in source control management using tools such as Git and Azure DevOps repositories.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for collaborating across teams and stakeholders.
• Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test cases, primarily using Python and C#, to provide comprehensive coverage across software components.
• Extend and enhance regression test frameworks to improve reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Execute automated and manual tests in Azure DevOps and TeamCity environments, integrating them with our CI/CD pipeline.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on software security and cloud-based development tools within Azure.
• Develop test suites for cross-platform software targeting Windows and Linux, including resource-constrained embedded systems, and assess compatibility and performance.
• Document testing procedures, results, and best practices.
• Keep up to date with software testing techniques, tools, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team and follow defined processes to deliver software iterations.
• Work with software development, product management, and quality assurance teams to align testing strategies with business objectives.
• Occasionally travel to Atlas Copco and customer sites across the UK, Europe, Asia, and the US to support testing and product deployment.
