Requirements:
  • Strong experience in cyber security, information security, risk, or assurance
  • Experience partnering with business and technology teams in complex organisations
  • Good understanding of cyber risks, governance, controls, and compliance
  • Ability to translate security requirements into practical actions and outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills
  • Relevant qualifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are desirable
Responsibilities:
  • Act as the main cyber security contact for the division
  • Translate security strategy, policies, and standards into practical delivery plans and measurable outcomes
  • Support the implementation of security controls
  • Coordinate remediation activity and manage divisional cyber risks and issues
  • Ensure security is embedded across divisional and technology change
  • Build relationships with stakeholders across IT, operations, risk, compliance, and divisional leadership
  • Provide practical guidance and oversight to improve security posture while enabling divisional objectives
  • Support audits, assurance activity, incident response follow-up, and continuous improvement in cyber maturity
  • Manage divisional cyber security team resources on a day-to-day basis

We are the University of Oxford, an internationally recognised university with a diverse and inclusive community and a focus on world-changing research. Our Cyber Security unit supports the teaching, learning, research, and administration communities by providing robust and reliable security functions. We are recruiting three Cyber Security Delivery Partners in Digital and Information Services, based at our Oxford offices at 16 Wellington Square, with hybrid working and a minimum of two days on site per week. The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week, with part-time applications of at least 30 hours (0.8 FTE) and flexible working also welcomed. The fixed-term contract runs until 31 July 2029, with the expectation of extension. The salary is £56,623–£65,336 per annum. We offer 38 days of annual leave inclusive of public holidays, the option to purchase up to 10 additional days, family leave benefits, hybrid and flexible working, a contributory pension scheme, commuting options, and access to social, cultural, and sports clubs.
