AI Governance Lead

Salary: £42,479 - 49,976 per year

Requirements:

• Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or Digital Technologies, with a demonstrated AI learning path
• Experience in a similar role as an AI subject matter expert, researching, evaluating, or applying digital or AI tools to solve business problems
• Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible guidance for users
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to assess user needs and determine suitable AI solutions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
• Desirable: experience or training in user support, digital adoption, or technology evaluation
• Desirable: knowledge of information governance and security, data protection, or technology-related risk assessment
• Desirable: knowledge of Microsoft Copilot capabilities
• Desirable: experience with AI-assisted productivity tools or digital adoption practices

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and continually improve our AI governance framework
• Provide practical leadership on AI policy, standards, controls, assurance, risk management, and responsible adoption practices
• Ensure AI technologies are used in line with our organisational strategy, legal and regulatory obligations, information governance requirements, and ethical principles
• Work across business functions and align closely with Information Security, Infrastructure, Data Protection, Legal, Learning and Development, and Communications
• Act as our subject matter expert on AI governance
• Provide strategic direction, develop governance processes, oversee assurance activities, support executive decision-making, and foster safe, confident, and responsible AI use

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Poole, Dorset, with hybrid working between home and Poole. The salary is £42,479–£49,976, dependent on experience.
