Responsibilities:

• We manage and develop the collection databases and data infrastructure that underpin our natural sciences digitisation programme.
• We ensure specimen data reaches national and international biodiversity platforms, including GBIF and the National Biodiversity Network.
• We work across collections, ICT and digital teams in a technically varied role at the intersection of collections management, data infrastructure and open science.

We are Amgueddfa Cymru, based at National Museum Cardiff. This is a fixed-term, full-time digital role working 35 hours per week at Grade E, with a salary range of £35,257.19 to £40,170.21. The role supports our natural sciences collections and digital programme, and is part of the DiSSCo-UK project funded by UKRI. DiSSCo UK is a £155 million, 10-year national programme to digitise and connect the UKs natural science collections, delivered by UKRI AHRC in partnership with the Natural History Museum and more than 100 partners across the UK. This post is linked to the first phase of the project at Amgueddfa Cymru, the Lead Hub of the DiSSCo UK | West consortium covering Wales, South West England and Northern Ireland.
