Application Support Engineer / 2nd Line Support

Salary: £25,000 - 29,000 per year

Requirements:

• Experience in application or technical support.
• Working knowledge of web/PC environments.
• Experience with Jira or similar.
• Experience with Bitbucket or similar.
• Strong SQL skills, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and system procedures.
• Experience with PowerShell or another scripting language.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd line application support.
• Triage and investigate technical issues.
• Troubleshoot application and data problems.
• Use SQL to investigate and fix data issues.
• Track incidents through an issue management system.
• Escalate complex or urgent issues where required.
• Work closely with Engineering and Service Delivery.
• Support web and PC-based applications.
• Work within an Agile development environment.

We are recruiting for an Application Support Engineer to join an established fintech business operating in Cardiff. This is a hybrid role based in Cardiff, with a working pattern of 3 days in the office. You will join our Engineering team and work closely with Service Delivery and Engineering to resolve incidents. The role offers a salary of up to £29,000 plus up to a 20% annual bonus.
