Technical AI Lead (Java)

Salary: £104,000 - 117,000 per year

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on Java engineering experience
• Tech Lead experience, including coaching and mentoring engineers
• Experience with complex brownfield or legacy products
• Experience helping engineering teams adopt AI within their development practices
• Exposure to Spec Driven Development or similar approaches
• Comfortable getting into the code and solving complex technical problems

• Join a large-scale product modernisation programme
• Work hands-on across a complex brownfield Java platform
• Solve complex technical problems
• Help stabilise and modernise the product
• Coach and mentor the wider engineering team as they transition towards AI-assisted development

We are hiring for a Senior Java Engineer / Tech Lead on a contract basis to support a large-scale product modernisation programme. This is an initial 6-month contract at £400 per day, outside IR35, and the role is fully remote. We are moving quickly with initial conversations taking place tomorrow through Friday 18th September.
