Lead Data Engineer

Salary: £44,000 - 76,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for proven experience leading technical delivery and mentoring engineers in a senior or lead capacity.
• We need strong experience designing, building and operating scalable data platforms and pipelines in complex environments.
• We are looking for experience with cloud-native data platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP or similar enterprise environments.
• We need a deep understanding of data modelling, data quality, metadata, lineage and governance principles.
• We value the ability to make pragmatic, risk-aware technical decisions balancing resilience, pace and long-term maintainability.
• We are looking for experience embedding engineering best practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, observability and version control.
• We need strong collaboration skills, working across engineering, security, data science and product teams.
• It would be great if you had exposure to MLOps or SMLOps tooling and model lifecycle management.
• It would be great if you had experience supporting AI/ML pipelines, feature engineering or analytics platforms.
• It would be great if you had knowledge of AI governance and secure adoption of generative or agentic AI.
• It would be great if you had experience working in security-focused or regulated environments.
• It would be great if you had familiarity with event-driven or streaming data architectures.

• We are partnering across Security, Cloud, Architecture and Product teams.
• We are mentoring engineers and helping build a high-performing engineering culture.
• We are operating at the intersection of data engineering, security and AI to deliver high-impact outcomes across a complex enterprise environment.
