Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: £90,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• We expect significant experience in one or more of the following: using C++ to implement efficient solutions on resource-constrained embedded devices; working with RF communications and software-defined radio technologies and architectures; digital signal processing, algorithm or payload development, and embedded system design.
• We are looking for competency in C/C++ and Python for embedded applications.
• Desired experience includes EW or SIGINT capability development, including RF waveform and protocol vulnerability analysis.
• Familiarity with GnuRadio, MatLab, AMD EDF, or other SDR development tools is desired.
• Experience with commercial and military communications stacks and modem development, such as IEEE 802.x, COFDM, Satcoms, or Link 16, is desired.
• Experience working in AWS and CI/CD pipelined environments, especially with GitLab and Linux, is desired.
• Experience with real-time test and measurement tools, such as vector signal analyzers, is desired.

Responsibilities:

• We develop and integrate DSP and SDR functions in C++ for inclusion in a wider OpenCPI application.
• We implement signal processing pipelines, embedded Linux drivers, firmware, and application management code to integrate our applications with customer radios.
• We operate within a cross-functional team designing and integrating RF communication systems for complex mission environments.
• We use test-driven development strategies and consider testing throughout the development lifecycle, including test harnesses and simulations for verification and validation.
• We embrace the use of AI/ML tooling and hybrid cloud compute environments to deliver results that challenge the status quo.
• We work with Agile principles and communicate closely with peers and leaders to ensure delivery of the right solution on time.
