Senior Audio AI Research Engineer
Job Description
Salary: £58,000 - 98,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for someone with comprehensive knowledge of the latest AI advancements, such as diffusion, flow matching, transformers, and GANs.
- We require 4+ years of experience in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, with a proven history of building ML pipelines in the audio domain.
- We need proficiency in Python, including package development and collaborative coding practices.
- We are looking for expertise in performance analysis and optimization of ML systems.
- We require hands-on deployment experience with systems like TensorFlow Lite, ONNX, TVM, and Glow.
- We need strong familiarity with cloud compute environments, ideally AWS, and data ingestion such as TF Data pipelines.
- We require knowledge of source control and project tracking systems such as GitHub and Jira.
- Preferred experience includes a track record of research publications in conferences such as ICASSP and Interspeech.
- Preferred experience includes knowledge of audio engineering and acoustics.
- Preferred experience includes a sound understanding of embedded systems and constraints.
- We are looking for a PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Audio or Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
- We are also open to candidates with BSc, MSc, or PhD-level qualifications.
- We will have you explore innovative ways to leverage our strengths in video conferencing, including distributed microphone arrays and cameras mapped with location and orientation data.
- We will have you utilize participant identification and positioning, as well as multiple video and audio streams within a given space.
- You will address complex challenges before deploying new Audio AI technologies by optimizing integration with other components in the Audio AI pipeline, identifying the most effective task combinations, and developing strategies to minimize bias while enhancing robustness against noise, reverberation, and echo.
- You will conduct in-depth research to address emerging challenges in Audio AI, including developing multi-modal solutions that integrate audio, video, and other sensor data.
- You will develop advanced audio streaming solutions for low-latency, real-time causal AI systems.
- You will evolve technologies from earlier research stages to deployment-ready maturity, collaborating with teams responsible for quantization, deployment, and C++ optimization.
- You will rapidly prototype Audio AI technologies by implementing research papers and extending them, such as modifying data augmentation strategies, adjusting FFT parameters, incorporating auxiliary tasks, and optimizing loss functions.
- Experience with data-driven algorithm tuning using metadata evaluations and advanced acoustic simulations is highly desirable.
