ServiceNow Software Engineering Tech Lead
Job Description
Salary: £45,000 - 85,000 per year
Requirements:- We have proven experience with the ServiceNow platform, including a strong understanding of its functionality and best practices.
- We have demonstrated hands-on experience in ServiceNow development, including building, customizing, and deploying solutions.
- We have proven experience leading or mentoring ServiceNow developers.
- We have demonstrated expertise in JavaScript and Glide API.
- We have experience with Business Rules and Script Includes.
- We have experience with Flow Designer automation.
- We have experience with ServiceNow integrations, including REST and IntegrationHub.
- We have proven development experience in ITAM and ITSM modules.
- We have experience designing and maintaining CMDB data models and reconciliation rules.
- We have a strong understanding of CSDM.
- We have experience building custom applications in scoped and global applications.
- We have experience supporting enterprise-scale ServiceNow environments.
- Preferred: We hold ServiceNow CSA certification.
- Preferred: We hold ServiceNow Application Developer (CAD) certification.
- Preferred: We hold CIS-ITAM or CIS-SAM certification.
- Preferred: We have experience with Discovery and Service Mapping.
- Preferred: We have experience leading ServiceNow development teams or technical delivery.
- Preferred: We have experience contributing to architecture design and governance frameworks.
- Preferred: We have experience delivering ITAM transformations or large-scale platform initiatives.
- We act as the technical lead and primary escalation point for ServiceNow developers.
- We provide hands-on guidance in development, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, Flow Designer, UI Actions, Service Portal components, scoped applications, and APIs.
- We lead code reviews, enforce development standards, and ensure best practices are followed.
- We mentor and coach developers, supporting their technical growth and capability development.
- We manage technical delivery across sprints, ensuring alignment with priorities and capacity.
- We design and develop solutions within ServiceNow across ITAM, ITSM, SPM, FedRAMP, and NowAssist/AI.
- We develop scoped and global applications aligned to enterprise standards.
- We lead development of ITAM solutions across HAM Pro and SAM Pro, including lifecycle and compliance workflows.
- We troubleshoot complex platform issues and support high-quality solution delivery.
- We work closely with ServiceNow Architecture to design scalable and compliant solutions.
- We contribute to and align with Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
- We translate architectural designs into actionable development patterns and standards.
- We ensure solutions align with the platform roadmap, data models, and governance frameworks.
- We provide technical support and leadership for implementations.
- We design and support ITSM and ITAM workflows, including asset lifecycle workflows, normalization and reconciliation rules, and asset-to-CI relationships.
- We develop to support compliance, optimization, and governance initiatives.
- We manage and support Threat Modelling and Technical Reviews.
- We design and oversee integrations using REST APIs and IntegrationHub.
- We ensure integrations with discovery tools, endpoint management platforms, procurement systems, and financial systems are scalable and maintainable.
- We provide technical oversight for integration design and troubleshooting.
- We drive adoption of Automated Test Framework (ATF) and automated testing practices.
- We support platform upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
- We ensure code quality, version control, and deployment governance across environments.
- We maintain technical documentation, standards, and reusable development patterns.
- We translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- We partner with teams across ITAM, ITSM, Security, CCoE, Finance, Infrastructure, and Service Operations.
- We act as the bridge between Development, Architecture, and Platform Leadership.

This is a full-time role based in Alpharetta, GA, Surrey, or London Wall, with a U.S. national base pay range of $115,400 to $192,300, possible geographic differentials, and eligibility for an annual incentive bonus.
