Job Description

Salary: £69,000 - 109,000 per year

Requirements:
  • We require a masters degree or equivalent/higher qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • We require experience in predictive modelling and a deep understanding of data analysis and modelling techniques such as GLMs, Time-Series Analysis, Bayesian Statistics, MCMC, neural networks, and similar methods.
  • We require very strong skills in R or Python.
  • We require advanced coding and analytical skills.
  • We require strong communication skills and fluency in English.
  • We require creative thinking and a desire to refine systems and processes.
  • We require high self-motivation, enthusiasm, and the ability to lead by example.
  • We require the ability to work as a team player and adapt quickly to new teams.
  • We require strong interpersonal skills.
  • Preferred: experience in object-oriented programming, preferably Java.
  • Preferred: experience with GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Preferred: experience with SQL.
Responsibilities:
  • We work closely with colleagues in Quants, product owners, developers, and traders across the company.
  • We create predictive models for pre-match and in-play betting markets across various sports.
  • We clean, visualize, analyze, and interpret relevant data.
  • We implement created models in Java and test them.
  • We publish and maintain Java libraries.
  • We provide data analysis and other math-related support on demand.
  • We learn how predictive models work in a betting context and build our own models.
  • We support the team in maintaining the codebase.
  • We analyze, evaluate, and optimize existing predictive models as model co-owners.
  • We research new methods for future applications.
