Lead C# Developer .Net FinTech

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need expertise in C# .NET Core backend software development, with experience on large, scalable, complex systems.
• We need strong technical leadership experience, taking ownership of features rather than managing people.
• We need a collaborative, pragmatic approach with the ability to push back and influence senior engineers.
• We value clean, reusable, and maintainable code, with good knowledge of modern Microsoft software engineering best practices.
• We need a good understanding of event-driven architecture.
• We need a thorough understanding of computer science fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, design patterns, and algorithms.
• We need a good understanding of CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• We value an appreciation of Azure, SaaS, PaaS, and microservices.
• We are likely looking for a degree in a relevant STEM discipline, such as Computer Science, with a good grasp of mathematics.

Responsibilities:

• We will have our Lead C# Developer manage three Agile teams comprising around ten experienced software engineers.
• We will have the role take responsibility for our flagship desktop insurance platform, which handles 4 billion requests per month.
• We will expect the role to architect, design, and develop new features and enhancements.
• We will expect the role to ensure high levels of security, reliability, maintainability, usability, and performance.
• We will have the role collaborate with the Product Owner and other development teams.
• We will expect the role to contribute to design and technical choices.
• We will expect the role to provide technical ownership in an Agile environment that encourages close collaboration and continual improvement.
