Senior UX Designer

Salary: £59,000 - 99,000 per year

Requirements:

• We need strong depth in either UX or Service Design, alongside working knowledge of the other.
• We need a deep understanding of user-experience design for mobile and the web.
• We need demonstrable design skills and the ability to show relevant work across complex service environments.
• We need knowledge of, and a desire to investigate, innovate and develop emerging design, UX, service design and technology trends.
• We need a strong ability to recognise and predict use cases and user interaction, including happy path, edge and corner cases, and incorporate them into designs.
• We need experience in rapid prototyping tools such as Sketch and InVision.
• We need strong consultancy skills and a focus on our clients needs and motivations.
• We need the ability to share skills and experience with our clients so they can continue to iterate and improve after we leave.
• We need the ability to design end-to-end service journeys across multiple touchpoints, channels and offline interactions, not just digital interfaces.
• We need experience translating complex policy, legal or organisational requirements into coherent service propositions.
• We need a deep understanding of how to influence organisational change and advocate for user-centred design across all levels of client organisations.
• We need to be able to work from a location within reasonable travelling distance of one of our UK offices, with flexibility to travel to our offices or client sites as required.

Responsibilities:

• Propose ideas that solve problems creatively and shape them into logical, coherent solutions centred around user needs.
• Design end-to-end user journeys that create the optimal user experience.
• Use insights from user research and metrics to identify pain points, define and improve the design.
• Explore a range of approaches to solve specific user problems and ensure the product logically flows from one step to the next.
• Produce user journeys, sitemaps, navigation schema and annotated wireframes.
• Conduct usability testing and gather feedback.
• Engage with agile, multidisciplinary teams through a user-centred design process.
• Learn from user research and metrics to define and improve the service, and explain decisions clearly.
• Run workshops with our team and stakeholders.
• Work with our design community to share best practice and help maintain high standards.
• Help drive our creative culture by being a visible advocate for design internally and externally.
• Map service ecosystems and define clear service propositions.
• Tackle systemic, institutional problems beyond the digital interface.
• Facilitate collaborative workshops to align diverse stakeholders on service visions.
