Senior Report Developer

Salary: £28,000 - 68,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require 3-5+ years of experience as a Crystal/BOBJ Reports developer.
• We require proven expertise in Crystal/BOBJ/WEBI reports development.
• We require strong Paginated Report builder and data set knowledge.
• We require the ability to navigate complex databases with SQL across multiple platforms.
• We require the ability to create and maintain reporting datasets in multiple database platforms, including Oracle and SQL Server.
• We require experience interfacing with internal and external stakeholders and communicating with a varied audience.
• We require the ability to understand existing and new business processes and requirements to ensure proper implementation and validation of systems.
• We require strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the business, peers, and vendors in a professional manner.
• We require the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• We require customer engagement experience and customer requirements gathering experience.
• We require a degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
• We value experience with Power BI.

Responsibilities:

• We deliver paginated and Crystal/BOBJ reports, as well as stored procedure development.
• We meet with business users to qualify report requirements.
• We create reports from scratch and improve the performance of existing reports.
• We lead innovation and development while promoting best practice in the business intelligence field.
• We improve legacy systems while designing for the future using the latest BI tools, processes, and disciplines.
• We develop new report templates and enhance existing ones.
• We participate in the software development lifecycle and provide guidance where required.
• We submit work for technical test and cosmetic test, and apply re-work when required.
• We apply dimensional modelling, database principles, and ETL.
• We coordinate and maintain the reporting requirements backlog with stakeholders.
• We perform duties as BI system administrator, including release, security, and server tasks.
• We lead the creation of new reporting and improvements to existing reporting commitments.
• We help ensure BI system infrastructure availability.
• We lead and implement continuous improvements to BI outputs as part of root cause analysis following incidents.
• We develop and deliver BI requirements as part of wider project teams for new and existing customers.
• We provide training and guidance to the wider team, promoting best practice and process improvement.
• We perform on-the-fly report design, QA, and deployment to resolve immediate production issues.
• We develop and mock up quick prototype reports to demonstrate user requirements.
• We establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding commitments, targets, and drivers.
• We support the global BI team with a focus on continual service improvement.
• We participate in global team meetings and events when required.
• We support and maintain existing Crystal reports with a focus on moving them to a new platform.
• We perform other duties assigned by our manager from time to time, as reasonably required.
