IT Infrastructure Team Lead

Salary: £55,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements:

• Current UK Security Check (SC) clearance
• Experience delivering IT infrastructure within the UK defence sector, including supporting or working within MoD environments
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Windows Client, Active Directory and core domain services
• Good knowledge of networking, including firewalls, routers and switches
• Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware and/or Hyper-V
• Strong infrastructure troubleshooting and 3rd line support capability
• Experience with system design, integration and implementation
• Experience leading, mentoring or providing technical direction to other engineers
• Strong customer and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to prioritise technical work and make sound decisions around risk, security and delivery
• Willingness and eligibility to undertake Developed Vetting (DV) longer-term
• Formal line management experience
• Direct experience working with MoD customers and stakeholders
• Experience supporting air-gapped, restricted or highly secure networks
• Current or previous DV clearance
• Knowledge of Secure by Design principles
• Project or technical delivery management experience

Responsibilities:

• Lead, line manage and develop a small team of IT Infrastructure Engineers.
• Take ownership of technical delivery across customer projects and services.
• Plan and prioritise activity against risk, resource and customer requirements.
• Lead the resolution of complex infrastructure, hardware, software and networking issues.
• Provide technical escalation and 3rd line support.
• Support the design, integration, implementation and maintenance of secure IT systems.
• Monitor and maintain critical systems and networks.
• Contribute to system design and solution architecture.
• Maintain clear technical, support and procedural documentation.
• Coach and mentor engineers, sharing good engineering practice across the team.
