Java (Kotlin) Developer
Job Description
Salary: £43,500 - 71,500 per year
Requirements:- Java and Test-Driven Development are essential.
- Proven experience in an application development role.
- Demonstrated execution capabilities.
- Bachelors or university degree, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Additional experience with Kotlin, cloud technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift, messaging technologies such as Kafka, Solace or TIBCO, database or data store technologies such as SQL Server or S3, and observability technologies such as OpenTelemetry, Elastic Stack/ELK or Grafana is advantageous.
- Own and deliver components in Java/Kotlin within the Core Prime Brokerage platform.
- Contribute hands-on to agile development.
- Apply and improve CI/CD practices.
- Implement and maintain developer-led automated testing solutions.
- Participate in the refinement of SDLC, agile, and DevOps processes.
- Take part in design, planning, and estimation discussions.
- Analyze assigned work in detail and break it into technical tasks.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to clarify and refine requirements.
- Create and maintain project and technical documentation.
- Identify risks or issues in assigned tasks and communicate them to the team lead.
- Assist in production support with operations and business teams.
- Participate in support rotations to diagnose and resolve escalated issues.
- Contribute to documentation and post-mortem reviews.
- Implement software enhancements to resolve root causes and improve reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate as part of a global team and participate in peer reviews such as code reviews and pull requests.
