Solution Architect - Land CEMA

Salary: £95,000 - 95,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for a proven background within CEMA or Defence Communication applications and experience at Solutions Architect or a similar level.
• We require a degree, or equivalent experience, in a STEM subject, with strong numerical, analytical, and design skills.
• We are seeking significant experience developing communications, Electronic Warfare (EW) / CEMA, and/or vehicle mission systems-based architectures, products, and systems throughout the full lifecycle.
• We need experience dealing with customers at a senior commercial and technical level.
• We need experience estimating costs and technical risk for each solution approach.
• We need experience of the full life cycle for product and system development, from concept through to disposal.
• We are looking for familiarity with open systems architectures such as SOSA, LCA, GVA, OpenVPX, MORA, OpenCPI, and VITA.
• We require experience of formal user requirements capture, traceability, and compliance management methodology and tools.
• We need experience of military electronic systems, including understanding interoperability, operational use cases, and customer needs.
• We require knowledge of military communications architectures and principles.
• We value experience with tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, System Architect, and The Mathworks.
• We need experience of military command and control networks in the Land and Maritime context.
• We require experience producing engineering documentation to support a competitive tender.
• We are looking for experience working in a consultancy-type role.
• We want proven experience as a Solutions Architect, or in a role with similar responsibilities.
• We need the ability to understand customer business and technical needs and translate them into a technical solution in language customers can understand.

Responsibilities:

• We will shape enterprise and system-level solution designs for our Land CEMA portfolio.
• We will deliver resilient, modular, and scalable solutions for future customer needs and operating environments.
• We will maintain high awareness of developments around Land CEMA Architecture (Standards for Integrated C5ISR/EW Systems).
• We will architect and deliver CEMA capabilities across enterprise and system levels, ensuring interoperability, resilience, and customer value.
• We will shape technical and commercial strategy by evaluating alternative approaches and balancing bespoke development with Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) integration.
• We will lead technical input to bids and campaigns, producing architectures, requirements, and cost estimates.
• We will engage directly with customers and partners, translating operational needs into clear technical solutions and building trusted long-term relationships.
• We will generate thought leadership through white papers, studies, and stakeholder engagement.
• We will support recruitment and mentoring, building a pipeline of engineering talent and fostering innovation.
• We will represent the organisation internationally and strengthen reputation through B2B collaboration and strategic partnerships.
• We will collaborate across disciplines to define solution definitions and strengthen our reputation as a trusted partner in defence technology.
• We will provide technical leadership in bids and external studies.
• We will scope and participate in PV and support Capability Management for product portfolios.
