Principal Developer

Salary: £90,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements:

• Deep understanding of coding best practices and modern architectural patterns, including microservices and message-driven architectures.
• Experience developing applications with non-functional requirements in mind.
• Experience in application and digital services design.
• Proficiency in software engineering practices such as code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and SOLID/DRY principles.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, React, and Node.
• Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Desirable: Kotlin.
• Experience in estimation and sizing.
• Experience in integration and API design.
• Proficiency in cloud technologies.
• Appetite to work with emerging AI technologies.
• SC eligible.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership within a team to coordinate and deliver scalable, secure solutions in line with industry best practices.
• Work within a project management and agile delivery methodology to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of software applications.
• Take technical ownership of a product or software solution, covering design, estimation, shaping, and user story and requirement creation.
• Document solutions, including architecture, configuration, release, and support handover.
• Collaborate and liaise with stakeholders and end users throughout the software development lifecycle, including PMs, BAs, testing, and product teams.
• Clearly communicate technical designs in conversation, documentation, and presentations to stakeholders of varying technical ability.
• Provide effective knowledge transfer to team members and customers.
• Manage, coach, and develop junior members of the team and the wider community.
• Foster a positive working environment and facilitate team collaboration and communication.
