Sr. Technology Architect - GCP and AWS Network Architecture

Salary: £24,000 - 59,000 per year

Requirements:

• We require deep expertise in GCP services, including Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, VPC, Load Balancing, Cloud SQL, IAM, and KMS.
• We require advanced proficiency with AWS services, including EC2, EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, VPC, Route 53, KMS, IAM, and DynamoDB.
• We require strong experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.
• We require in-depth knowledge of networking, VPC design, interconnectivity options, load balancing, and service mesh.
• We require expertise in container orchestration with GKE and EKS, including Kubernetes security, networking, and autoscaling.
• We require proven experience in data migration, ETL/ELT processes, analytics, and cloud-native storage models.
• We require familiarity with FinOps, cost modeling, right-sizing, and cloud optimization techniques.
• We require demonstrated ability to create enterprise-class architectures and strategic transformation roadmaps.
• We require extensive experience transitioning legacy monolithic applications to microservices architectures.
• We require proficiency in defining cloud landing zones and platform engineering frameworks.
• We require outstanding communication skills, particularly for CxO-level audiences.
• We require strong stakeholder management and cross-functional team leadership.
• We require experience guiding large, diverse architecture and engineering organizations.
• We prefer GCP Professional Cloud Architect and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional certifications.
• We prefer practical expertise with Anthos, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud service meshes.
• We prefer experience in regulated sectors such as banking, telecommunications, or the public sector.
• We prefer a minimum of 10 years in architecture roles, including at least 5 years in cloud-native environments.

Responsibilities:

• We architect, design, and govern cloud solutions on GCP and AWS that deliver enterprise-grade scalability, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• We lead architectural design for workloads across compute, storage, networking, data, containers, and serverless technologies.
• We create high- and low-level design documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment models.
• We drive modernization efforts such as containerization, microservices, serverless models, event-driven architectures, and advanced data platforms.
• We engineer multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments leveraging Anthos, interconnectivity between GCP and AWS, and on-premises integration.
• We provide expert technical direction to engineering and DevOps teams during solution design, implementation, migration, and optimization.
• We define and ensure compliance with architecture standards, guardrails, design patterns, and reusable templates.
• We review Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and CloudFormation and oversee CI/CD pipeline maturity.
• We ensure solutions comply with enterprise governance, regulatory, and compliance mandates.
• We architect migration strategies including rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, container migration, and modernization of data pipelines.
• We conduct readiness assessments, TCO/ROI analysis, and application dependency mapping.
• We establish landing zones within GCP and AWS with security, monitoring, and automation practices.
• We implement Zero Trust models, native security controls, IAM/RBAC, KMS, encryption, web application firewalls, and network segmentation.
• We architect highly available systems and disaster recovery solutions using multi-zone and multi-region capabilities.
• We optimize performance through autoscaling, caching, load balancing, and service mesh technologies.
• We collaborate with client CTOs, architects, and business leaders to define and advance cloud strategies and transformation roadmaps.
• We provide thought leadership on emerging trends such as AI/ML integration, advanced data platforms, FinOps, and edge computing.
• We present architectural proposals, risk assessments, and governance recommendations to stakeholders.
• We design and implement end-to-end automation pipelines for build, test, release, and operational workflows.
• We partner with SRE teams to support observability, SLO/SLI tracking, error budgeting, and automated operations.
• We oversee centralized logging and monitoring using CloudWatch, Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus/Grafana, and SIEM tools.
