Job Description

Salary: £70,000 - 82,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience in technical architecture and IT solution development across front-end, back-end, or middleware.
  • Track record of designing and delivering modern architectures with a strong grasp of architectural principles.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and understanding of the product lifecycle.
  • Exposure to multiple technologies and enterprise-scale environments.
  • Strong technical leadership with the ability to mentor and influence teams.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on enterprise systems development experience in C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, C++, or similar.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and experience with Azure or GCP.
  • Experience with containerisation and microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of APIs, system integration, and DevOps practices including CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and Git.
  • Understanding of security practices including application security, cloud security, authentication, and authorisation.
  • Desired: experience with front-office or trader-facing applications and services.
  • Desired: exposure to Inter-Dealer Broking environments.
  • Desired: knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Desired: familiarity with micro-frontend architecture.
  • Desired: experience optimising financial services technology solutions.
Responsibilities:
  • Define and communicate the architecture vision, translating it into Epics, Features, and Stories.
  • Ensure solutions align with business priorities, enterprise architecture, and evolving business needs.
  • Support DevOps practices and the continuous delivery pipeline, and contribute to release governance.
  • Promote built-in quality by defining and managing non-functional requirements (NFRs).
  • Collaborate with teams to evolve design, validate implementation, and drive sustainable practices.
  • Maintain architecture documentation, system tools, and technical assets.
  • Work with geographically distributed teams and support global deployments as part of the overall architecture.
  • Align Feature teams to the architecture roadmap and help ensure systems under development enable fast, reliable delivery of value.
  • Provide technical leadership, assist in developing team skills, and nurture existing talent.
  • Provide expertise on engineering and architecture best practices relating to platforms and user interface delivery.
