Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure design, build, and deployment
• Enterprise VMware experience, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
• Experience with NSX or NSX-T
• Experience supporting on-premise to cloud migration
• Experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure
• Experience in infrastructure architecture and implementation
• Experience with cloud platform integration and transformation
• Active SC clearance required
• Experience with vSAN, HCX, or VMware Aria would be advantageous

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership of the design, build, and deployment of cloud infrastructure
• Support a significant on-premise to cloud migration programme
• Work on hybrid cloud infrastructure within a major defence project
• Contribute to infrastructure architecture and implementation
• Help deliver cloud platform integration and transformation
• Design and build complex environments rather than only maintaining BAU infrastructure

We are a leading UK defence company working on a major submarine project. This is a senior contract role based in Reading with a hybrid working model of two days per week onsite. The assignment is a six-month rolling contract and is inside IR35, with a rate of up to £650 per day. You will join a high-profile programme delivering a complex infrastructure transformation supporting a strategically important submarine capability.
