Requirements:

• Java

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality, readable, scalable, and easily maintained code using Java and related technologies, meeting requirements and coding standards.
• Develop reusable patterns and encourage innovation that will enhance team velocity.
• Contribute to quality assurance by writing unit and automated tests.
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code developed meets coding best practices, unit testing, security, scalability, and maintainability guidelines.
• Ensure code is sufficiently documented and share knowledge of solutions implemented.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and daily stand-ups in a true Agile environment, contributing to agile-based estimating.
• Work with the scrum team to meet sprint commitments.

We are a collaborative, forward-thinking Agile Scrum team working on innovative geospatial software using the latest cloud-based technologies. This is a 12-month initial contract based at our Newcastle office, with hybrid working available and flexible arrangements in place. The successful candidate is expected to be in the office 3 days a week and may work 2 days from home. The role is inside IR35.
