Network Security Engineer - Caversham

Salary: £45,000 - 85,000 per year

Requirements:

• Active SC Security Clearance
• Strong hands-on experience with F5, Zscaler, and Palo Alto technologies
• Experience with Checkpoint, Juniper, Bluecoat, and Cisco network solutions
• Telecoms industry sector experience preferred
• Advantageous experience with Cisco IPT, QoS, 802.1x, Infoblox DNS, switches, wireless, VPN (IPsec, SSL VPN, DMVPN), and WAN routing protocols

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical ownership of the customer security infrastructure estate, including processes, procedures, documentation, and lifecycle management
• Act as the technical point of reference and escalation for security-related changes, modifications, and firewall rule base projects
• Serve as the technical point of contact for vendor support on security infrastructure incidents
• Design customer networks and support high-level and low-level design documentation
• Provide technical support, change management, and management of hard physical changes and soft remote changes
• Manage customer inventory, hardware and software updates, and end-of-life activities

We are a global IT consultancy supporting a leading telecoms end client. This is a 6-month contract for a Network Security Engineer with active SC clearance, offering £380 per day outside IR35. The role is primarily remote, with occasional travel to UK customer sites including Warwick, Wokingham, Corsham, and Farnborough. The start date is ASAP in August or September 2026.
