VP, AI & Data Platforms

Salary: £46,000 - 74,000 per year

Requirements:

• Proven experience leading AI, data science, machine learning, or data platform teams.
• Track record of delivering data and AI initiatives with clear business impact.
• Strong understanding of data platforms, analytics, and ML/AI technologies.
• Experience operating in complex, matrixed organisations.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to link AI initiatives to business value.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at senior levels.
• Ability to operate strategically while staying close to execution.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives end-to-end.

Responsibilities:

• Define and execute a clear AI and data strategy aligned to business priorities, with a focus on revenue growth, customer retention, operational efficiency, and productivity.
• Identify, prioritise, and build a portfolio of high-impact AI and data initiatives.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI initiatives, from ideation and business case through to delivery, adoption, and measurable results.
• Ensure solutions are embedded into business processes and drive real, sustained impact.
• Oversee data science, machine learning, and data engineering teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-quality data and AI platforms.
• Drive best practices in data architecture, model development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, Credit, Marketing, and Technology teams to translate business needs into data and AI solutions.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, bridging the gap between technical teams and commercial leaders.
• Champion the use of AI across the organisation.
• Promote practical, day-to-day use of AI tools and solutions, and help teams unlock productivity and better decision-making.
• Support training, upskilling, and knowledge sharing to build a data-driven culture.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, ML engineers, data engineers, and analysts.
• Build a strong, collaborative, and innovative team culture focused on delivery and impact.
